This project was a remodel of a concrete warehouse with a brick façade. The project consisted of two 50 seat theaters, two recording studios, multiple DVR screening rooms, 16 editorial suites, an exercise area with locker rooms and a café with a pizza oven.
Morrow-Meadows assisted the client in value engineering the light fixture package and lighting controls. Cable tray was installed around the perimeter of the building with floor duct going into the open office space. Morrow-Meadows assisted the electrical engineer in reusing the existing Glendale Power transformer vault and relocating the electrical rooms as well as integrating the lighting controls with the AV system to reduce cost to the client.
The project had exposed light fixtures on the existing waffle slab ceiling. Morrow-Meadows devised a method to install the conduit on the roof and supply power to the exposed light fixtures minimizing the amount of exposed conduit.
It received the 2012 LA/NECA Distinguished Project award.
