Banc of California Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium home to MLS’s LAFC, located on the site of the LA Memorial Sports Arena in the Exposition Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Completed in 2018, it was the first open-air stadium built in the City of Los Angeles since 1962. The stadium boasts high end catering and special event facilities to host a wide variety of event types or concerts with 35 suites and seating capacity of 22,000. Facilities include:
Morrow Meadows was the electrical contractor for this project. Our scope of work included two, 3000A and two, 4000A substations, sports lighting, EV charging stations in the parking areas and sophisticated nLight and Fresco lighting controls. By using LED lighting and daylight harvesting, the project successfully managed the total building wattage and is being considered for LEED recognition by the US Green Building Council. MMC installed a G-Pon network for all the low voltage voice and data networking, installed security cabling and provided the design-build fire alarm system. We also installed the infrastructure necessary for a future solar system planned for the roof of the Ancillary building. This project was constructed under an extremely fast paced construction schedule. We had 120 electricians onsite during the peak construction period and our extensive preconstruction work with the owner and project team made it possible for us to complete the project ahead of schedule and on budget. We are especially proud to have helped bring skilled labor jobs to the Exposition Park neighborhood by exceeding the project local hire goals.
