MMC was engaged during the conceptual design phase of this6-story  hotel/spa/casino facility to perform document reviews and provide value engineering services in advance of the installation of the electrical systems. Our design-assist efforts resulted in the elimination of unnecessary electrical equipment, fixture list revisions and workspace reorganization which resulted in significant cost savings to the owner. Our BIM modeling started before the construction drawings were completed.  Modeling included all underground and overhead pathways, light fixtures and support in addition to lightning protection system, under-floor distribution and emergency and paralleling gear.  Our efforts reduced the construction time of an already aggressive construction schedule.  The project includes 200 hotel rooms, an 85,000 sf casino gaming floor, four restaurants, 25,000 sf of event space and all kitchen/food service/office and administration spaces.  MMC was recognized for Excellence in Construction by NECA/IBEW for our efforts.  At its peak, over 100 Wiremen helped to put this facility together in 15 short months.  We worked over 149,000 hours in the desert heat with zero recordable accidents.  We were engaged from conceptual design as a design-assist partner and provided value engineering services including a completely re-worked single line that eliminated equipment, streamlined construction and helped the Architect with workspace reorganization, resulting in significant cost savings to the owner.
